V-DAY 2016 – A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer
February 19, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm
$10

A groundbreaking collection of spoken monologues from renowned authors and playwrights from around the world. To be performed by members of the hills community, these diverse voices rise up in a collective roar to break open, expose, and examine the insidiousness of violence at all levels: brutality, neglect, a punch, even a put-down. Come along to support action against gender-based violence.
The readings will be accompanied by live music from local composer Jordan Scotney, followed by performance from local singer-songwriter Elise Cabret.
All proceeds go to McAuley Community Services for Women, a Melbourne based charity that provides services for women and children escaping family violence.
V-Day is a global movement to end violence against women and girls. Founded in 1998 by Eve Ensler and inspired by her Tony Award winning play, The Vagina Monologues. Find out more about V-Day at vday.org
Mulled wine and other refreshments available during the interval.
