DESCRIPTION:Join us for our final Selby Folk Club night for 2025!\nWe have a jam packed evening of amazing music for you:\n~ Kicking off the evening is Mr Alford – Diverse with beautiful original country\, folk and bluegrass tunes interwoven with great stories\, it’s better than Netlix.\n~ Next we have a mini set from Jordan Scotney: Moving you with music.\n~ And rounding out your night of aural pleasure is Moonshine Coalition [with Jordan Scotney]: An intoxicating fusion of Americana and Australian Frontier Music.\nSo bring your friends and your favourite beverage and let’s enjoy a beautiful night of original music together.\nDoors open at 7.30pm Music starts at 8pm.\nBYO snacks & drinks. Gold coin donations for supper | $5 mulled wine.\n\nMoonshine Coalition\nFormed in early 2015 by Max Lees and Annie Dixon and with the 2023 addition of Geoff Stokes\, Moonshine Coalition perform an intoxicating fusion of Americana and Australian Frontier Music. For this show Jordan Scotney is joining the coalition\, to add some cello goodness.\n\nThe trio has a strong focus on intricate 3-part vocal harmonies\, which\, together with Max’s National Resonator slide guitar\, Annie’s crisp fingerpicking banjo style and Geoff’s mellow double bass\, produce an original and enthralling sound.\n\nThey have received enthusiastic responses from audiences in Australia\, Nashville and Berlin\, who love their energy and passion.\n\nWith Max’s music and Annie’s lyrics\, Moonshine Coalition write songs with inspiration from Australia’s past\, blended with events from their own lives. Their inventive songs can make their audiences both laugh and cry.\n\n \nMr Alford\nWith a spellbinding song-writing ability\, and time-bending musical sensibility\, Mr Alford provides a thoroughly entertaining and impressive solo show. \nCurrently Melbourne-based\, Mr. Alford has a long rap sheet – from time spent cutting his teeth in Nashville bars\, to his “Album” hitting no 1 on the Australian radio charts\, his diverse experience explains his ability to enrapture any audience. \nHis songs cover many musical themes and reflect his vast experience on the road\, with a sound steeped in all aspects and eras of folk country and traditional to modern bluegrass. \n\nJordan Scotney\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJordan Scotney is a pianist and composer whose album\, Reimagined\, brings fresh perspectives to familiar tunes. Alongside Penny Lane and Somewhere Over the Rainbow\, you will hear a dark rendition of Twinkle Twinkle and a surprising new take on Jingle Bells. The sound […]  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEmaline Delapaix. \n\n\n\nEmaline Delapaix is a rural Northern England based Australian singer-songwriter who writes ethereal and folky songs on acoustic guitar\, piano\, celtic harp\, and other bowed instruments. Her biggest musical influences include Kate Bush\, Tori Amos\, Joni Mitchell\, The Finn Brothers and many Nordic artists. She also plays a handful of Nordic and Western European traditional songs exploring her ancestry. \n\n\n\nIn March 2026\, Emaline will be returning to Australia to visit the towns and cities she grew up in\, reconnecting to her family roots by playing shows in places that her ancestors came from\, writing songs about their stories from the road. As she has done in Europe and North America many times\, she will embark on this tour solo using train and bus with her trusty Maton acoustic guitar\, bringing with her\, stories and songs written in far off lands in English\, Swedish and Scottish Gaelic. \n\n\n\nYouTube\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJason Vorherr \n\n\n\nJason Vorherr is an established Melbourne-based musician\, singer\, and songwriter\, widely recognised for his long-term role as the bass guitarist for Australian rock legend Daryl Braithwaite. \n\n\n\nMore recently Jason has transitioned into a singer-songwriter\, with a country-folk storytelling style. He was named Musician of the Month in August 2022 by Australian Musician Magazine. Jason released his debut solo album ‘Living in the Suburbs’\, in 2022 to critical acclaim as a singer songwriter being compared to Paul Kelly and Michael Waugh. \n\n\n\nYouTube
